Few Recipes We Have Had Lately

I am way behind in posting the Pinterest recipes we have been eating.  So hopefully I can catch up.  I have been trying to remember  to take some pictures of them.  Some I have remembered, some not :)

I have made several crockpot recipes which we found good.  One is Honey Digon Chicken. The recipe is orginally found here.  I had some chicken thighs I found on "manager special" at our local Kroger, so this was a useful recipe to use them up.

We have had this Baked Ravioli, recipe several times.  It is a new favorite.  I buy the frozen Ravioli from Costco and it makes 2 dinners.  We make our own spaghetti sauce.  One of these days I will write down a recipe :)

On Friday nights, we have now deamed them snack nights instead of full meals.  I am a lover of dips so I have made a few for our snack night.

This Crab Rangoon Dip, now one of my new favorites.  I have made it a couple of times now.  I eat it with Tortilla chips :)

Another dip I have made is this BLT Dip.  It was very tastey also and will be making the rotation :)

Next up I made this Lemonade Pie.  We ended up sticking it in the freezer and eating it as a frozen pie.  We liked the taste of it better that way, it was very very lemony otherwise.  I also made the graham cracker crust it went into.  No recipe for that though.

Here is another recipe we tried and found to be pretty good. Philly Cheese Steak Sloppy Joes.  This was pretty easy to make and I do love easy!  Sorry we had eaten most of it when I remember to snap a picture.

Well there you go, hopefully I will be able to catch up with my goal soon :)

5 Things I Did That Were Frugal This Week

1. Had the hubby make a big ole pot of spaghetti sauce, which we got 4 dinners out of.

2. Hung clothes on my line on sunny days

3. Had a friend offer to loan us a wheelchair she had to help Kid # 5 get around when we are out for long periods of time.  Took her up on it!

4. Planted some free plants I got from my Mom, in my yard.  Ya for free :)

5. Came in under budget so far for groceries!

It Has Been A Long Week

On Sunday Kid # 5 hurt her knee jumping on a trampoline at a friends house.

One trip to the ER for X-rays and crutches.

Then one trip to the Orthopedic Dr and we now have this for the next 4 weeks.

I'll be back with "5 Things I Did That Were Frugal This Week" hopefully soon :)

5 Things I Did That Were Frugal This Week

1. Cooked at home

2. Hung laundry out to dry. When I did use the dryer I waited until night time when it was cooler so it would not heat up the house.

3. Found some nursery items for my new grandson at a yard sale

4. Found some nice "Justice" clothes for kid #5 at a yard sale. She was thrilled!

5. Used my rain barrel to water my flowers on the few days it has been hot and not rained

Frugal Cleaning

I rarely buy actual cleaning products anymore.  I do buy a spray for my shower some dish soap and some dishwasher soap, but really that is about it.

Here are a few things that I do to save some money and clean my house.

First up I have this Swiffer type product, I believe it is really made by Mr Clean.  I also have about 4 changeable pads that I use, that way when one is being washed I still have others to use.

I just wet the pad and use my spray bottle of All Purpose Cleaner to clean the floor. When the pad is dirty I throw it in my laundry with my load of rags.  I wash a load of rags about once a month. Speaking of All Purpose Cleaner here is my spray bottle of new cleaner I just mixed up last night.  I love this stuff and try to always have a bottle mixed up on hand at all times :)

I recently ran out of Comet cleanser which is what I use to always use to clean my kitchen sink. Instead of running out an buying some.  I used this empty Parmesan cheese container that I had cleaned out and filled with baking soda.  It works great and this is what I will be using from now on!

Here it is in my sink.  It works just as well as the Comet does and I already had baking soda in my pantry.

These are just a few ways I am saving some cash using things I already own :)
