Feeling A Bit Overwhelmed

My husband is gone long hours for his new job, plus it is tax season.  This means that all household/child related tasks fall onto me.  I am also working 4 days a week most weeks, sometimes even 5.  Although, my hours are not long and my job is not hard, I do spend all that time on my feet and by the time I get home my feet ache!  Add this to trying to cut the grocery budget, deep clean each room of my house and just save money in general, it is overwhelming.

I am a homebody and I have always known that I am not cut out to work a full time job and raise a family.  I have a great respect for those woman who do this.  I rarely have a day anymore to just stay home and I miss it.  I am looking forward to spring break and being able to have a few days to stay at home.

I have slowly been working on filling my freezer with crock pot meals that I can just dump in a turn on.  I think this will help me alot to not have to worry about food costs and what is for dinner.

I have also slowly been deep cleaning each room and then making sure to maintain it so that it is not such a daunting task to get done the next time.  Hopefully this will help also.

OK I feel better now getting that off my chest.  I'll be back with a couple project posts soon :)

  1. It is a hard adjustment to leave home everyday and it does take it's tole. Put your feet up for a while when you come home!

  2. It's hard not to have a day to "get things done". I used to work from home on Fridays, & even though I had calls/was working the entire day, it was so easy to throw a load of laundry in, start a pot of soup, empty the dishwasher between calls, etc. It really felt like my "recharge" day. When I had to give that up, I seriously considered going to part-time.

It's been a few years, & I still miss it terribly. Hope you get a chance to rest, catch up on life & the house in the next week!

  3. Oh you, poor thing. I'm sorry you have so much on your plate. Maybe, you should slow down with deep cleaning until after the tax season?:) Take it easy!

  4. It is super hard to work full time and maintain a house. I feel like I'm always on the go! Sometimes it just takes awhile to get adjusted to the new routine. I know you weren't planning to work this many days right? And Tax Season is temporary and almost over. Keep up the good work!

  5. It is hard to work and maintain a home. I feel like I'm going all the time. But I thought you were planning to work less days - could you cut back any? And remember Tax Season is temporary. So just keep your eyes on April 16? It's hard but you can do it. Just prioritize - maybe the deep clean can wait.

  6. I can related- it is hard to work outside of the home and then feel like you're doing a good job at home too! I struggle with a good balance between the 2. On an unrelated note- we changed our cable! Cut our bill a lot... I can send info home with kid #3 if you want :)
