5 Things I Did That Were Frugal This Week

1.  My husband changed the oil in both our cars and in Kid # 3's truck.

2.  I took Kid # 3 to the credit union and taught her how to deposit her money.  We also discussed how much she should be putting in her savings and how to go about saving for her bills etc...( may not seem like a frugal thing to put here but I truely believe that we will be how she learns to manage her money)

3. Menu planned and cooked dinner at home

4.  Do to a mistake on my part with Kid # 5 lunch money, she doesn't have enough to last her until the end of the month.  Instead of giving her more money I just have made her a cold lunch to take more often.  This was a short week at school so she just took her lunch all 4 days.

5.  Made Kid # 5 homemade lunchables which she has been asking for to take in her lunch.

  1. Sounds like a great week. I did the same thing with my kids and banking, and you can never start soon enough. They know what goes into savings, checking, church, and what to spend.

And great job finding a solution to the lunchables! I would say you rocked this week

  2. Thanks Judy! Kid # 3 just got her first pay checks from her very first job so it is a learning experience for her. We have not opened a checking for her yet but it is on the list to do soon!

  3. I love these every week. Sometimes, I when we have an expensive week, I forget that we are mostly frugal.

  6. I remember making lunchables for my girls when they were little. I made 4 loaves of bread, gathered my own eggs, only spent the cash I had on hand, took back a bad container of Salsa for cash. I am really trying to watch my pennies, so I can pay off debt!
