5 Things I Did That Were Frugal This Week

1.  I sold a few items and earned $32.50 to snowflake to my ER fund :)

2. Cooked at home and stayed out of the grocery store

3. Cleaned out the refrigerator, made up several lunches for my husband to take to work, froze the rest of the leftovers

4. I have wood floors.  I really thought I wanted a dust mop, my floors not only get dirty but sometimes just dusty.  Instead I took a scrap piece of fleece out of my fabric stash and used it on my swiffer ( which I hardly ever use anymore).  I love it!  This is what I will be using from now on.

5. I am working on a command center in my kitchen.  Instead of buying the items I think I need I am coming up with creative ways of making them myself.  Post to come on this soon :)

    2. Melissa,
I tried this the other day and it worked perfectly! Thank you so much! I have oodles of fleece scraps left over from when I made the whole family pajamas. Glad I saved the scraps.

    3. Oh I am glad to hear it worked well for you. I have made several fleece items and have alot of scraps also. I plan to cut several pieces to fit my swiffer, that way I always have one clean to use :)

  2. I never thought of putting a piece of fleece on the swifter. Since tomorrow is cleaning day I am so doing this. Great ideas!

    1. I used it just to dust the floors. I have a different swiffer like mop with washable pads that I use for actual mopping. I don't like how the washable one does for just dusting though. The fleece really worked great for picking up the dust and I will be using it from now on. Earlier in the year I made reuseable/washable swiffer dusters too using fleece. I don't think I blogged about them. Maybe I will have too :)

  3. I like the fleece idea! We use an old, damp dishrag on our swiffer to mop our hardwood floors. We have enough old rags to just change them out until the floor is clean, then the rags go into the wash to be used again.

    1. I have a swiffer type mop with washable pads for the actual mopping. This was just to pick up the dust that seems to settle on the floors during the week. The fleece works great for that!

  4. I have a dust mop, but I bet the fleece works much better. Might have to check that out!
